Make a Neighborhood Paper Collage

By ColorWillow

Build a paper neighborhood with five printable template sheets. Color buildings, vehicles and park pieces, then connect them with roads. The model uses simple symbolic sizes, not a real map scale.

Print the project sheets

Choose the paper size loaded in your printer. Print at actual size (100%) so the pieces match the measurements in this guide.

Two different paper houses, a public building and a park connected by roads and a crosswalk.
Illustrated arrangement made from these exact printable pieces.

Try it step by step

House, bus, tree, road and bench pieces shown separately before arranging.
Pieces before arranging; cut around the outside dashed borders.

What you will need

  • Matching A4 or Letter paper; crayons or colored pencils; ruler. For cutting, child-appropriate scissors and adult help. Glue is optional.

Print and check the scale

Print at 100% or Actual size. Check the 50 mm line. The seven-page file has instructions, a base, buildings, park pieces, vehicles, roads and an example.

Color and cut

Color before cutting. Ask an adult to help cut the outside dashed borders; keep the white margin and do not cut small windows or gaps.

Arrange your neighborhood

Place roads first, then buildings and the park. Try a route from a house to the park. Arrange everything before gluing; this imaginary model does not teach local traffic rules.

Tell its story

For a no-cut version, draw on the base or use whole rectangular sheets. Tell someone where you would go. Print pages 2-6 for the templates; page 7 is the example.
