Try the activity
Print the three pictures
Add the three pictures to the print list and print it or download the list PDF. The pictures use three pages; an optional cover adds one page.
Find straight lines and a circle
On the France sheet, point to the three upright sections. On the Japan sheet, follow the circle with your finger and compare its curved outline with the straight dividers.
Look at the cross
On the Sweden sheet, find the long horizontal bar and the upright bar closer to the left. Point to the wider spaces on the right; keep the sheet facing the same way as the printed label.
Try a paper shape pattern
Choose a color to highlight one column, the circle or the cross, leaving other spaces white if you like. This is a shape-coloring experiment; try drawing one of those shapes on scrap paper too.
Another idea
Ask an adult to read France, Japan and Sweden aloud and match each word to its picture. You can point and compare without reading or cutting the sheets.
