Harvest and Thank-You Picture Display
A horn-shaped basket of produce, two bears sharing bread, a child drawing a heart card and a tree with blank leaf-shaped tags offer four different starting points. These pictures come from our North American Thanksgiving theme. You can also use them for a thank-you activity on any day, without celebrating a holiday.

Try the activity
Look for a detail
Find the pumpkin or grapes in the horn-shaped basket, the bread pieces in the bears’ paws, the heart on the child’s card or the blank leaf tags on the tree. Choose a picture you would like to color; you do not need all four.
Choose a few colors
Try two or three colors on extra paper. Start with a broad shape such as the pumpkin, heart or a leaf tag, then add smaller details if you want. You can leave some spaces white.
Make your own thank-you note
On a separate sheet, draw or write something you appreciate: a kind action, a place you enjoy or something that made you smile. You can ask someone to help with words, or keep the note just for yourself.
Arrange a small display
Lay the whole coloring page and your note beside each other on a table. Add another picture if you like, and notice how repeated colors connect the pictures. Choose whether to show your note to someone or keep it private.
Another idea
On the printed tree page, write a short word by hand inside one blank leaf tag, or leave the tags empty and place your note beside the picture. No cutting or extra decorations are needed.
