Choose a hummingbird scene

These hummingbirds range from a spare graphic bird to broad-winged outlines and densely divided feathers. You can also find perched birds, two birds on separate twigs, trumpet-shaped flowers and a bird beneath a large rainy leaf.

Choose a page

For larger coloring spaces, start with an open-background bird or a broad body shape. Choose the layered-feather bird for repeated colors, a flowering vine or garden patch for more objects, and the fine-feather or flower-arch pages for smaller details.

Try it together

Print one flying bird and one perched bird. Choose the same three colors for both, then compare how your colors look in the open wing feathers and the folded wing sections. Add a small color key on a separate sheet and display the finished pair together.
