Phone photos and supported image files

Prepare a still image that opens correctly, respects the upload limits and keeps the orientation you expect.

HEIC/HEIF on your device

The main still photo is decoded locally into a JPEG copy, without uploading it. Keep your original. If decoding fails, export a JPEG in your photo app. Renaming a file does not convert it.

Use a single still image

JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported. JPEG files with auxiliary image data use the main still image, including its orientation. Animated PNG and WebP are not supported; export one still frame instead.

Check file size and pixel dimensions

The limits are 10 MB and 20 megapixels, and the image must meet both. A 6,000 × 4,000 photo has 24 megapixels even if its file is small. Resize a copy in your photo app; compressing the file alone does not reduce the pixel count.

Confirm the preview before continuing

Free conversion, PNG download and printing need no account or credits. Sign in to save a result. AI requires sign-in and uses the credit cost displayed before you generate. Free conversion runs on your device. Switching to AI does not send the photo; AI submission or an explicit save uses the private upload process.

If the file still will not open

Export a fresh JPEG, PNG or WebP and select that copy. If it exceeds either limit, resize it first. Keep a sharp subject and enough room around its edges; visit the photo selection guide before removing important parts.
