The bucktooth beam

Bucktooth Pumpkin Face — pumpkin carving stencil

Tall oval eyes and two oversized front teeth make a cheerful, goofy face. Its big smile works on its own or beside the moustache and grumpy faces in a pumpkin family.

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

There are two oval eye openings and one wide mouth opening. Follow the mouth outline around both front teeth instead of tracing a smooth line across them.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the two light front teeth attached to the upper lip. The narrow dark space between them belongs to the mouth opening; the teeth themselves stay in place.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check the teeth and the gap between them on the actual-size print. Allow the full grin to sit on the front of the pumpkin rather than curling its ends around the sides.

Print width: 140–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.

  2. Tape ordinary printer paper over a smooth area. Trace with transfer paper underneath, or mark closely spaced dots along the dark outlines.
  3. Remove the paper and compare your marks with the cut-and-keep notes above. An adult handles carving; use an LED light for the glow.
