The six detailed scenes use 170–185 mm paper widths, depending on the design. Their extra openings, narrow gaps and repeated corners need more planning. The other nine patterns provide smaller steps in detail; their original difficulty labels stay visible.

A little help choosing

Read the light areas as carefully as the dark ones.

01

Buildings with open interiors

Open gaps between roofs and walls keep the village interiors attached to the shell. The castle also separates its tower tops from the lower walls. Keep those openings intact; the doorway shapes are cut away with the lower walls.

02

Web breaks and an open owl face

The web uses separated arcs so its light spaces can connect outward. The owl keeps its face attached through the opening between its ear tufts. Follow those breaks exactly when transferring; they are part of the structure.

Does a connected stencil guarantee a successful detailed carving?

Connected light areas are only one design check. Real results also depend on shell thickness, curves, tools and print size. These designs have not been test-carved on pumpkins. Check the actual-size print and keep every connecting strip shown on the template.

Pumpkin previews are illustrations. Check the printed pattern against your pumpkin before carving.
