What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

The bat, crescent and two stars form four separate openings. Follow the small ears at the top of the bat and the curved notches along the lower wings.

Leave these areas connected

Leave the spaces between the wings, stars and moon intact. Do not join the separate sky shapes to the bat or add retained facial details inside its solid silhouette.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

The wing tips set the widest part of this scene. Check that both tips sit within the smooth front area and that the upper crescent does not wrap over the pumpkin’s shoulder.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
