A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Trace the star and each of the three separate trails. Follow the tapered trail ends and the points around the star without joining neighboring shapes.

Leave these areas connected

Leave the light bands between the trails, and the gaps separating them from the star. Those spaces keep the streaks distinct in the glowing preview.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check the diagonal span from the lowest trail tip to the top of the star. Flipping the whole pattern changes the direction of travel while keeping the spacing.

Print width: 150–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
