Fewer openings and fewer corners are different things. A leaf has one opening with many points; the paw has five separate rounded shapes. Compare the paper silhouettes before choosing.

A little help choosing

Choose by the shapes, then by the smile.

01

For a familiar first face

The Classic Jack-o’-Lantern has four openings and two teeth to keep attached. The Laughing Pumpkin Face has five openings, including the cheeks, but no teeth in its mouth. Choose by the outlines you prefer tracing.

02

For fewer separate pieces

The Autumn Maple Leaf is one continuous silhouette with pointed lobes. Woodland Mushrooms has four cap and stem shapes with broad curves. A smaller cut-out count does not automatically mean fewer turns.

03

Give the design enough space

Measure the smooth front of your pumpkin and keep the whole pattern within it. Smaller printing makes every bridge and corner smaller, too. Carving is an adult job.

Does “easy” mean every pumpkin will be easy to carve?

Here, easy describes the simpler shapes in the template. The pumpkin’s curves, firmness and shell thickness still matter. Try the paper outline against your pumpkin before you start.

Pumpkin previews are illustrations. Check the printed pattern against your pumpkin before carving.
