What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Transfer the three triangles and the mouth as four separate outlines. The upper edge of the mouth steps around the two teeth; include those steps when tracing.

Leave these areas connected

The teeth remain part of the shell above the mouth. Keep the light bands between the eyes, nose and smile rather than joining the dark shapes into one opening.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Center the nose on a smooth part of the pumpkin and check the full width of the smile. The straight eye edges offer a different outline to the curved eyes in the toothless laughing face.

Print width: 130–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
