Sneezing Pumpkin Face — pumpkin carving stencil

Angled, squeezed-shut eyes and a zigzag mouth catch a pumpkin just before a sneeze. The sharp changes in direction give it a noisy expression beside the sleepy face.

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Trace the two chevron-like eyes, little triangle nose and single zigzag mouth. Follow the mouth’s top and bottom corners instead of joining them with a smooth curve.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the triangular spaces within each bent eye open to the surrounding shell. Preserve the light band below the nose and above the zigzag mouth.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check the eye corners and the lowest two mouth points on the print. This design has more direction changes than the yawning face even though both use four separate openings.

Print width: 150–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
