Too much candy

Spiral-eye Pumpkin Face — pumpkin carving stencil

Two curling spiral eyes and a crooked grin suggest a pumpkin that has had too much candy. The spiral openings make this more detailed than a face with solid oval eyes.

A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Follow each dark spiral all the way around its inward curl. Trace the wavy mouth separately, including its short downward extension near the middle.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the light paths winding between the dark eye curves. Do not simplify the eyes into closed rings or join neighboring turns of a spiral.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Inspect the narrow spaces inside both eyes on the paper print. If you need fewer small turns, choose the surprised face with solid eyes rather than reducing this spiral design further.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
