What to cut. What to keep.
Follow these shapes
Transfer the owl body, two eyes, beak, two lower feathers, branching perch and stars. The perch is one connected dark shape with several angled turns.
Leave these areas connected
Keep the owl’s face channel open between its ear tufts. Preserve the gaps around both small feathers and between owl and perch; none of those light bands should be joined into a cut.
Fit this design to your pumpkin
At 175–185 mm, examine the small feather openings before transferring. The branch reaches farther sideways than the owl, so fit the complete scene rather than only the bird.
Print width: 175–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
