A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Follow the trunk and all of its branches as one connected dark silhouette. The crescent is a separate opening above the branch on the right.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the light forks between branches open all the way to the outer shell. Avoid rounding across a fork and accidentally joining neighboring dark branches.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check the tree’s left branch and right moon on the actual-size print. Leave room for the broad base below the trunk; it is wider than the narrow middle.

Print width: 165–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
