What to cut. What to keep.
Follow these shapes
Transfer two filled triangles and the curved lower mouth. Keep the straight top edge of the smile rather than adding teeth.
Leave these areas connected
Leave the broad central area between the eyes and mouth untouched. The light space between both triangles must remain open to the top of the pumpkin.
Fit this design to your pumpkin
Start with an 80 mm print. Check the eye points and outer smile edges against the pumpkin, then enlarge it if you need more room.
Print width: 80–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
