A closer look at this pattern
What to cut. What to keep.
Follow these shapes
Follow the head, long foreleg area, rear legs and rising tail as one silhouette. Include the notches between the legs when transferring the outline.
Leave these areas connected
Leave the wedge beneath the sloping body and the spaces between the rear feet intact. The tail curl has an open end that must remain open.
Fit this design to your pumpkin
The nose and tail define opposite corners of the design. Check both on the actual-size paper and leave enough space for the long low front paws.
Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
