A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Transfer the ears, eyes, nose, two paws, side flaps and broad lower box. The face uses separate features rather than a filled head silhouette.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the horizontal strip between the paws and the box. Preserve the open face area and the small gaps beside each flap; do not connect them into a dark frame.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Allow for the box flaps as well as the tall ears. A broad pumpkin front suits this arrangement better than fitting only the face onto a narrow area.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
