A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Transfer the ears, eyes, nose, paws and three pickets. Each picket is a separate filled shape, and the center one rises higher than the outer two.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the strips beside the pickets and beneath the paws. Do not add a connecting fence rail that would join all the dark shapes into one opening.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Compare the ear tips at the top with the bottoms of the pickets. Position the whole scene upright before marking the lower fence pieces.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
