A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Trace the dog as one silhouette and the ball as a separate circle. Follow the angular spaces between the stretched legs rather than joining them into a solid base.

Leave these areas connected

Preserve the gap between the muzzle and the ball. Leave the open wedges around all the legs connected to the surrounding shell.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Include the ball in the height check and the tail in the width check. Mirroring the whole scene changes the running direction while keeping the ball in front.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
