A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

The leaping cat is one filled silhouette and the star is a separate opening. Follow the notches between the front paws and the two trailing rear legs.

Leave these areas connected

Keep the gap between the cat’s ears and the star. Leave the wedges between the extended legs attached to the surrounding shell rather than smoothing across them.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check the tail tip at the left and the star at the upper right. Flipping the full design makes the cat jump the other way for a pair of pumpkins.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
