A closer look at this pattern

What to cut. What to keep.

Follow these shapes

Trace each dog as its own filled silhouette. Include the long foreleg notches and the outward edges of both seated bodies.

Leave these areas connected

Leave the large gap between the two muzzles and bodies in place. Preserve each dog’s leg notch rather than joining its foreleg to the body at the bottom.

Fit this design to your pumpkin

Check both dogs together on the paper: the taller head sets the height, while the outer paws define the width. Flipping the scene swaps the big and little dog.

Print width: 160–185 mm. Check the whole print against your pumpkin before transferring; this range does not guarantee the design will be easy to carve.
